Summoned to a convent, Dr Martha Livingstone, a court-appointed psychiatrist, is charged with assessing the sanity of a novice nun accused of murdering her newborn. Miriam Ruth, the Mother Superior, determinedly keeps young Agnes from the doctor, further arousing Livingstone's suspicions.
Who killed the infant and, perhaps more importantly, who fathered the tiny victim?
Livingstone's questions force all three women to re-examine the meaning of faith and the power of love, leading to a dramatic, compelling climax.

The costume dept. for the production of The Addams Family is looking for support and assistance in the manufacturing of the costumes. We are aware that not everyone is a seamstress, our needs go beyond machining. The following tasks can be done in your armchair at home with nil experience.
We are looking for
A threader of elastic
A sewer of press studs /Velcro
A clipper of loose threads
A steamer /an ironer
and any other incidentals that may pop up
If you are comfortable with simple straight machining there will be folding edges and hemming.
All garments can be dropped off and collected and will come with any instructions required and materials.
We are costuming not sewing for Paris fashion week so anyone who wishes to join in the costume team will be welcome.
Anyone looking for a social hub outside the home there will be group sewing sessions.

Looking for something for 8-12 years during the school holidays, our friends at Dfaces of Youth Arts are holding a Junior Theatre Camp from 17-19 January.
Check them out, along with all their fabulous and varied artistic programs for various Youth age groups.⭐️JUNIOR THEATRE CAMP⭐️
It's been a while since we hosted a theatre camp at D'faces and we thought it was time to break one out again! This program, especially designed for junior thespians, is an introduction to improvisation and theatre making. Play games, make friends, and put together a performance to share with families on the final night.

We are casting now, but formal rehearsals will start in January. Whyalla Players hold an open casting process with no characters pre-cast.

Summoned to a convent, Dr. Martha Livingstone, a court-appointed psychiatrist, is charged with assessing the sanity of a novice nun accused of murdering her newborn. Miriam Ruth, the Mother Superior, determinedly keeps young Agnes from the doctor, further arousing Livingstone’s suspicions. Who killed the infant and, perhaps more importantly, who fathered the tiny victim? Livingstone’s questions force all three women to re-examine the meaning of faith and the power of love, leading to a dramatic, compelling climax.
Directed by Nicolaas Voordendt, this critically acclaimed dramatic script by John Pielmeier will be Whyalla Players opening production for Season 2024, to be performed March 8 and 9.

The fairytale musical was written in 1987 by Stephen Sonheim and James Lapine, and was inspired by several plots from the Brothers Grimm stories.
